Nineteen months!

Today, I am hitting the nineteen months quit milestone and its time for reflection.

The past two months have been very normal with hardly any triggers for smoking. Funnily, there have been stray thoughts; thoughts like how good a cigarette after the lunch break would be. But nowadays, with all the reading done, the effort put in, I immediately am reminded of the true implications of this dangerous dalliance - the danger of again losing my freedom from nicotine bondage.

If love is ' the will to extend one's self for the purpose of nurturing one's and others' spiritual growth'(M.Scott Peck- The Road Less Travelled), quitting smoking is a tremendous act of self-love. It is a very fundamental step for one's spiritual growth.

Let all friends struggling with the early withdrawal symptoms of the quit, and all those thinking of quitting keep this in mind - once the early recovery phase is over, life gets better by the day. A huge ball and chain comes off one's life and there is a lightness of being that is delicious. The effort to quit pays incredible dividends in the long run.

Wishing everyone here all the best in there quest for true personal freedom.

Never Take Another Puff.
