I am new to all this - trying to figure the site out....I'm not real savvy when it comes to these things. I am 2 days out from my quit day and I have been keeping busy. I started taking Chantix on April 1st and my quit date is April 8th. Down to just a handful of times smoking each day. Trying to be positive to completely quit by the 8th.

Welcome aboard!  I am so glad you found us!

It sounds like you have a quit plan in place - which is step 1 to a successful quit.

If your quit starts over the weekend, you might want to schedule some projects or something to stay buys.  That helps me.

Keep checking in; I'll be looking for you.

Welcome!  There will be lot's of support here for you if you ask.

Lot's of people recommend reading The Easy Way To Quit Smoking, by Allen Carr.

I wish you all the best.

Welcome to the EX community. Get your game plan ready and stay close to this site if you can.

Remember this saying "I don't do that anymore." Every time you think you need a cigarette start saying it. It helped me in my quit.

Welcome and Congratulations on making the decision to quit smoking.  Quitting is the easy part, staying quit takes a lot of work.  First you have to be willing to make a lot of sacrifices even if it means letting for a period of time some people places and things.  Withdrawal from smoking has to be treated as any other drug.  With a change in mindset and the willingness to do whatever it takes to not smoke.  At EX our resolve is to never smoke again.  NOPE “Not one puff ever.”  I suggest that you follow the steps on the web site pages along with reading, writing, studying, researching and blogging if you like.

This is all about you and what you are willing to do to be a nonsmoker.  If you haven’t read it or have not been informed read  Allen Carr’s book, “Easy Way to Quit Smoking”. It is in pdf on the web  It is an easy suggested  Also check out www.whyquit.com.  There is a lot of additional beneficial information to read and study.  Look for Freedom From Nicotine My Journey Home and Nicotine Addiction 101. Both were extremely helpful for me.  Stay close to the site and learn, ask questions. Read the blogs and most of all enjoy your commitment to quit smoking.

If you should need something to do here is a link that will help

Best of luck to you. It's not luck though. You came to the right place. I was not savvy at online stuff either. But I replaced smoking with getting good at online stuff with this sight. These people saved my life. Stay here. It works. Dont have smokes in your house. Dont go get them. You cant smoke what you dont have. You deserve to breathe fresh air.
