I have come back to give it all i have to quit and be the final quit, many, many previous quits that i just did not try hard enough to keep them going. My quit date was set for Monday 7/29/19 but i told myself when that last pack is gone that is it. So today Sunday July 28,2019 i make a promise to myself not to smoke, and take it one day at a time.

Having a plan is essential. Make it part of your routine to check in here every morning. Have a plan for the early withdrawal symptoms (I used Tootsie Pops, others have used straws or cinnamon sticks, for example). Keep your eye on the next milestone and promise yourself a reward for getting there.

oh i do have a plan,I have a huge bag of jolly rancher candys, life savers, gum, im actually going cold turkey but i think i may go to the store and have patches or one of the aides on hand just incase it gets to intense, but very determined ,if i keep a positive outlook on this, and do my homework and reading i feel i can do this. I am not going to let that junkie voice in.I am so ready.

I agree, you DO sound ready.  It's time to walk the talk...I had so many failed quits before this one, I credit education, support from this site, and my own commitment not to smoke, no matter what.  I did not use any NRT but I don't have anything against them.

Welcome to your quir.

Anyone can quit and stay quit by taking it one day at a time. Just remember that taking it one day at a time is not a punishment, just a compassionate way to deal with the dependency. You can do this, yes you can.
