This has definitely been the strangest quit I've ever been on!! From Day ONE when I threw my cigarettes away and said,"I'm tired of smoking," 'til today when I'm sitting here writing this blog telling YOU how it's different!! Still, in 2 weeks time, I have NEVER had one CRAVE!! Unheard of!! Also, I've slept well every night but one. That was last night when I chose NOT to sleep with my oxygen or my sleep apnea mask. I woke at 3AM and the morning hasn't been good. This is my FOREVER QUIT!!! Don't know what's happened but my craving for a sickerette is GONE!! I hope it will NEVER return but I'm prepared if it does.

I also hope it never returns.  But even if it does, you can fight it.  Congrats!

You ever watched a dragonfly being born? I have, in person.   It's the most amazing thing.  This horible looking creepy crawly alien bug comes up out of the water and sits on the site of the pond.

And then he makes a hole in his carapace and emerges.  Bit by bit he extrudes the water from his tail.  Then suddenly the wings, which were stuck together, open and slowly dry in the sun.  At one point he startes fluttering them like mad and in the next - he's airborn.

The following link will show you a series of stills of the process.  Look at how he clings to his old self.  This creature was a water breathing entity and an hour and a half later not only changed to breathing air, but learned to fly too.

Dragon Fly Birth

May we never cling to our old smoking selves, but rather  soar high in our freedom.

That's what I meant by being clear, Candy!  You've quit smoking, therefore you do not crave them.  I too have never craved a cigarette since I have quit.  I've thought about it, had moments of temptation, but never a "crave".  I accept this as the fact that I am clear about quitting, no longer ambivalent or torturing myself with should I.  I have!

Being sure, sure does help, doesn't it?  I am so happy you have reached this place, Candy!  There are other elements of our quits we have to work through, but a crave is not one of them.  YES!

I understand completely! Day 9 for me.

I'm using the patch, but haven't had any cravings either. I just don't know what to do with myself with all the extra time 🙂

Congrats!
