Nearing the 24 hour mark... Still Going STRONG!

I'm really proud of myself. I'm never proud of myself, but I am taking this in stride and one moment at a time and I feel fantastic!

I've gotten great responses on my earlier blog. Thank you all, I can't tell you how much of a difference it is making!

So far, I'm just feeling a little edgy. I've got a slight headache. My fingers constantly want to be active. That's why I decided to blog again, and will write a blog on my other site as well. Keeping busy as I've been advised. I'm also scared to spend time on my balcony... the location where I USED to smoke. I've got a great view too... Apparently, I'm unable to attach a pic of it for some reason. Oh well.

I was really nervous coming home from work. I figured it's gonna be so hard because I USED to smoke as soon as I got home. Not today! I opened the balcony door a crack to let in the FRESH AIR. Watching tv and just chillin.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic day! Thanks to those who have offered unconditional support and encouragement. You are my success!

Good for you. You should feel proud of what you're doing for yourself. Don't let smoking take anything away from your quality of life. You should go out this weekend and find a few things to spruce up your balcony, a mini makeover of sorts. Create a little sanctuary for yourself where you can enjoy the fresh air and scenery. Keep up the positive attitude and you'll do fine. Again, well done.

You know it seems so long ago that I made it 24 hours - it's really all a blur now - the first week it tough - I will not lie to you - but here I am today on day 126 and it has all been worth it.  Good luck to you - it really isn't luck that you need-but a determination to make it thru the bad days to get to a better place. Congratulations!

Today is my first day quitting. I'm using the patch and staying busy. So far so good. I'm really excited about becoming a non-smoker again (quit for 13 yrs in past) and feel better already--just making the decision to quit and preparing for it in advance (disposing of all the lighters, ashtrays etc etc) most of my friends don't smoke and most ppl I see out in the community do not either so it'll be GREAT to feel less like an outsider and more a part-of!! Thx for all the support and positive stories. It's helping a lot!! ....Quit4Good

You are doing GREAT!  Remember to change your routines up - maybe take a different route home from work for some fresh scenery?

You might try to rearrange the furniture on your balcony - or maybe use some of your saved cigarette money to buy some plants?  Or a sculpture?  Or windchimes?  Make it a different place as much as you can so you can continue to enjoy it.  Do you knit or crochet or do crosswords?  Keeping your hands busy wlll form a new non-smoking memory for that place.

I am so proud of you!  Keep adding those hours - they turn into DAYS!

You can do this, stay determined each day gets a little easier, the first two weeks was the hardest for me. I smoked for well over 38 yrs nearly 39 yrs, health is my biggest reason for quitting and the extra money is a bonus. I'm on day 53 believe me stay focused on quitting smoking it's going to be tough the first few days but it's going to be SO WORTH IT you can and will quit.

I smoked like a stove for 40 years. That first day, then the next, then the next without smoking gets the nicotine out of your immediate system. It's like you have to be willing to deal with what is happening, but know this....YOU CAN DO IT. I promise, after the first week you're going to be the strongest person you've EVER been. Keep moving forward.

Quitting is a decision. You've made a wonderful decision FOR YOU. Love yourself enough to stop the insanity. I've had strong urges nearly a year after quitting, but I will say this, we are addicts and it take a lot of love of self to keep your promise to yourself.

Care about YOU. We will be here for you, but it's your life, your decision.

Hugs,

Moody

Keep yourself busy and your mind occupied.  If you start to dwell on smoking thoughts, catch yourself and turn them immediately.  WE are in control, not IT.  Stand tall, you're doing it!

Thank you all so much for your responses. I tried to respond to some of them last night but was having internet issues. Starting getting frustrated, plus had a migraine, so went to bed. I'm sorry I can't respond to each of them personally... BUT please remember I read them all and appreciate them more than words can say. You guys are keeping me positive and determined!!! I love it! Love to MY EX friends ❤️
