Hey Alex, so let me see, your counter says you are on day 10 but now because you had a few puffs of a cigarette you're not sure you are ready to quit...YOU DID QUIT...for 10 days...you got thru the toughest part...why did you have cigarettes anyway?????
All I can say is if it was just a few puffs then get on with it, don't beat yourself up...concentrate on those 10 days...also if your sister in law is smoking again that does not mean you have to...just suck it up and be strong, do not use her as an excuse to smoke....
Good Luck, you can do this...please let me know how you are doing and if I can help you with anything.....

Alex, no one can make you quit. You have to want to quit all on your own and do it for yourself. Go to www.whyquit.com and get some education on quitting smoking. When I 1st went to that site some of the stories that I read broke my heart and I decided for sure then and there that I was going to quit. My daughter and husband deserve a wife and mother that is going to be around. Last night we went out to eat and for the first time I noticed how nice it was to walk out of the resturant as a family, I didn't fall behind freezing my tale off trying to light a freaking cig to take 5 puffs off of before I got in the car (never smoked in the car with my daughter). All I can tell you is that if you really want to quit, do it. You can do this, it may mean staying away from your sister-in-law for a few weeks or asking her to please not smoke around you. Were you trying to quit cold turkey or some other way? For me the key was staying busy, not giving yourself time to think about it. We're all different and you have to find out what works for you. Don't give up, keep trying and remind yourself you can do this.

Alex, I really fee for you. At 11 days, I think it is just a brain thing now. Your nicotine receptors are dying and your not getting the same amount of endorphhines that you were - at least that's how I understand it. You can do this, though. You've gotten to this point. Stay strong.

Drown any cigarettes you have...kid. Get rid of them and just keep going. You have quit for those 10 days, do you really want to have to start all over again and go through those first terrrible days? One Puff leads to thousands more cigarettes. You can never have just one. It doesn't work that way. Get off the "I'm a Loser Trip" and get back on the "Winner Trip"! We all make mistakes....just get back on the horse and keep riding. Get stubborn....get angry at those cigarettes. Don't give in to the Nicodemon, you are just giving your Power away. QUITTING IS A CHOICE AND YOU HAVE THE POWER TO CHOOSE....USE WISELY YOUR POWER OF CHOICE! We are here to support you and encourage you to keep going.....but we can't do it for you. Get into the right mindset.....GET POSITIVE, GET EXCITED about the new changes in your life, and GET DETERMINED (STUBBORN)!!!! Visualize your life without cigarettes. Visualize how clean you will feel, how your home won't stink, how you can go to a restuarant and not have to run out to light up. Visualize how you will be able to breathe better and feel better. Visualize all the things you will be able to do without smoking. VISUALIZE, VISUALIZE, VISUALIZE!!!!! Tell your sister-in-law if she wants to smoke she can but you are going to continue your journey to FREEDOM! If you have to stay away from her to do it for a while, then stay away. Just tell her why you are doing it. Don't let anyone or anything stop you from reaching your goal! If you do, you are only making excuses and didn't really want to quit anyway. I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!!! YOU JUST HAVE TO BELIEVE IT!!! I'm sending you warm smiles and GREAT BIG HUGGGS!!!!!

Good alex....that is exactly what you need to do. Remember....every time you get through a crave, it not only gets you stronger for the next one, but it is the positive re-enforcement that you are successfully quitting! You have to look for the Positives in every situation. Try not to think of the craves as miserable and hard. Try to think of them as a lesson learned never to smoke again!!! Think of them too, as the journey to the finaly success to a Freedom you have long forgotton. YOU ARE IN CONTROL.......NOT THE DEMON. If you are as stubborn as you say you are.....You will do just fine. I'm a Mule Head myself and that is what worked for me. I'm here for you if you need help......Hugggs!

It takes so much guts to keep going, even when you slip up. I slipped up by having a few puffs and ended up smoking for two months before trying again (this quit attempt I'm on right now). Many people never even try to quit again! So the fact that you're getting back up on the horse shows your bravery and I'm proud of you! Just keep fighting keep fighting keep fighting!!!
