I lost my quit last Saturday night. With a little help from my smoking friends and alcohol...I chose to light up a cigarette and smoke it. It is done! It is over with. No EXcuses---PERIOD. Sorry for those that i am disappointing. All I can say is never lose faith in yourself. It can be done!

I hug you.  I feel for you.  This makes me cry.  It's okay, though.  You'll get it back.  And there's not a damn thing we can tell you that you don't already know.  ♥, G

I am in shock as I read this but I know how easily ur quit can be lost cause I came close to losing mine a few mths ago. For anyone reading this, don't think you are safe after a certain number of days, even years can be lost especially when alcohol is involved. I love ya linda but plz throw them away and restart ASAP. The longer you wait, the harder it is.

anyone who would give you a cigarette while you were drinking is not your friend.

You smoked... ok ... but the real question is are you using the fact you smoked as an excuse to keep on smoking?

So you are back to day 1... NO EXCUSES... just do it and figure out what you have to do to keep it from happening again.

Forget the guilt...

Feeling bad for you. Nothing ruins a quit faster than alcohol. The good news is you had established a long quit, you know what it takes to be successful, and you can do it again.

Wow, so sorry.  Thanks for letting us know.  I am sure we are all learning from it.  God bless.

When I first started reading this, I thought this must be some kind of a joke - but no punch line....nothing at all that I can say except I am truly sorry.  Wishing you all the best.

Linda you and I go waaaay back. You know what to do girl, get back on the quit. I know you did not enjoy the poison. I know it was hard for you to blog on EX about this but it is the start to you getting focused back on your quit. We all care for you. Agree with Dale, a friend handing you a smoke is not a friend. Stay close to this site, many will hold your hand.

Linda, I had to read this twice to fully grasp this. I am so sad and shocked. And stunned.

Dear Linda, please stay here close to us and jump right back on the Freedom Train. We love you.

Don't fret - you are human.  Don't give up and when it is the right time it will work.  I didn't think I could do it but haven't been tested around smokers or alcohol.  Not sure what would happen then but if I do slip I'll just try again and again.

I'm reading your post in disbelief, not because I don't know that we are all addicts for live but because it took me by suprise , it was unexpected...And that is what unexpected situations do and why we should always be on our guard!

I am sending you a huge friendly hug Linda (((((()))))))

Linda, I am so sad and sorry that you lost your quit last Saturday. That was one week ago. What's been happening since then? What's going on today?

Please restart your quit! You know all the steps. Don't listen to that addictive mind.

Hugs to you sweet lady.

Linda - I read this last night and couldn't comment.....I just couldn't. It hurts so much to imagine your sadness...... You quit about a month after I did - and this also reminds me of how fragile all of our quits are.

But - when you said "It is done! It is over with." - If you are referring to that quit, you are right - it is in the past. However, today is a new day.... After all of this time - being a witness to your quit, to your struggles, and to your challenges - I know that you have it in you to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back to this! I KNOW you do!

We are here for you Linda!

Now I understand why the elders say dont be too confident.  I am trying to learn the lessons from others mistakes.  Youir post was important to us all.  Good luck on getting back to being smokefree.

LindaN------no words.

You pick yourself up and start on day 1......it's all any of us can do.

And here we all are as always----- to love and support you.

STAY STRONG.

marilyn_marmac

I know you feel disappointment but don't let it settle in. Pick yourself up and move past it. You are and always have been an inspiration. There is a lesson for all of us here, a lesson you didn't have to share with us but choose to do because you are still helping and guiding us through all the pitfalls and traps of the nicotine addict!

It can happen to any of us in the right situation

Sending hugs,

Marilyn
