NML HERE I COME!

Today I hit 30 days of freedom from smoking.  I remember last fall when I started into NML. I was so proud of myself! I was sure I'd broken the ties with my demon permanently.  Well here I am again, just starting into no-mans land. This time I come in with a fire in my heart, guns a blazing and a lot of lessons learned.  Somehow it feels different this time going into NML.  I am stronger, my eyes have been opened a lot wider, and I feel it deep in my soul to stay smoke free. There will be no third time just starting into nml.  I despise smoking and even the thought of lighting up makes me feel sick physically. Weird? I don't know and don't care exactly why, I'm weird anyway as most of you know  Hey, I'm in my 50's and have purple hair if that tells you anything. I have such a passion to kill the guide wires leading to the spider (nicotine) that I didn't see and burn last time. Then I'll crush that insect under a boulder. Many thanks go to all of you who hold my hand once again as I go through the process and continuing days of a being an EX-smoker!

You don't have to despise smoking to let it go, just accept letting go.

The only draw was the nicotine. The rest is forgettable over time.

You are DOING this, Julie, we are here to hold your hand and hold you up if you need it.  One day at a time.  I despise what smoking DOES to people, myself included.

I know you will do it. You are armed and ready. Don’t even think about NML. I got myself so scared about it. Stay busy. One day at a time. Each day makes you feel stronger. We are here for you

Just like Mandolinrain‌ I love purple and we are NOT old LOL.. I too fell off into NML the last time - haven't made it to 30 yet this time but a little over 1/2 way there and like you I'm going in guns a blazing - heck I'm driving the tank! We are here to hold you up and walk with you - or run if you want.

Thanks.  You take driving the tank and I'll man the guns.  Let's blow this addiction to smithereens!

Hey Julie,

I know I'm new here... But I am not new to quitting. Every time I quit it was for some goal, not just for me. I'm tired of quitting. This is my 4th quit in 30 years. First I quit because I wanted so badly to become pregnant, then because I adopted children and I didn't want to dissapoint them, the last time because I didn't want to feel old. This time feels different, more honest. I know what smoking has done to me and I'm tired of running from it!

I do hair for a living ( and because it makes me so happy!) I'm more of a rose gold girl myself.... Love that you are loving life and yourself!

Keep up the good fight!

Well good for you!  I remember when you came here and said that you fell off the wagon. And now look at you . You are driving that wagon.  I am so happy for you. Bless

Saturday 10/14

Hello Mr. Nico-demon. I knew you would arriving sometime in NML but not so soon after I started NML!. The stupid dreams; the one where I say no but really do want it; moreover when someone else offers me one and I smoke it;  the one where I have to plan how to get them and only smoke a few. But the worst dream is where someone gives them away to a friend of mine or throws them in the garbage. I kept them in the still have the partial pack in the garage and in my dreams I am furious ONLY because they took away my challenge and challenge items. Thee is called awake. So far since I quit I only have the normal thoughts of an action that I did thousands of time ingrained. Things like "before I start cooking I'll go smoke a cigarette", or I'll wipe up the kitchen then have a smoke", etc.  The NOPE signs flash
