I’ve been reading through countless stories on everyone on here and they have help me immensely! So I thought it was time to share My journey and hopefully help someone else. Also please share feedback and thoughts and I’m very much still struggling through this adventure! Any confirmation of symptoms or questions are appreciated!

11/05/2023 was my quit date. I started using snus/pouches about 12 years ago in college. For the last 5-6 years it’s be rare I didn’t have a pouch in from waking up to going to bed for more than an hour without one in. My pouch of choice was on! 8mg and I’d put 2 in at once almost always. I would burn through at least a pack a day if not 1.5. This meant total nicotine intake was ~160-200 mg / day.

on 11/05/23 I felt sick, I had separate complications with a tooth infection that lead me to quit the nicotine. Over the first new days of quitting I didn’t realize the physical symptoms I would endure over the coming weeks and it scared me to death. I went to the ER 3 times in the first 2 weeks because of brain fog, dizziness, mucus and congestion. Keep in mind this was compiled with sinus/tooth infection at the same time to make things worse. All blood work was good, chest X-rays, CT, MRI, went to an ENT, chiropractor, and eye doctor. All test came back clear. This lead me more and more to believe it was nicotine withdrawal symptoms causing my panic. The anxiety was real as well I’d lay in my wife office and just cry because of emotion and anxiety of not having the nicotine was taking its toll. My wife has been an angel through all of this and was the most supportive partner I could have asked for. Sleeping through the night has not been an issue for me but fatigue was most likely the reason. It would hit 7:00 pm and I was sleeping hard, I’m waking up at 5 am without an alarm and can’t fall back asleep. Have headaches every morning that slowly go away throughout the day.

we are now 20 days into my quit and I still have symptoms of dizziness/fog and weakness, I didn’t realize how much more nicotine I was In-taking vs the average person but I’m also 6’ 5” and 280 lbs. after about the day 14 mark I was able to have enough brain power to start to work a full work day at my computer but I’m still about 70% of where I was while using daily.

I plan to continue my quit and push though the symptoms while continuing to monitor my symptoms, I just want to share this journey as I don’t think there is as much data and posting about Zyns and On! Pouches And want to make sure others have a place to chat and read about the trials and fight of quitting. DONT GIVE UP! YOU CAN DO IT!
