My quit day is coming up soon.....

I must say I'm a bit excited..........

I'm glad I've taken this time, having all sorts of life experiences and thinking "so wonder if this would have occurred on day 2, day 5, day 72....what could I do or tell myself to prevent it from making me return to smoking?"

I think this is what I have gained from this "planning time" the most....

I look forward to putting it into action, and hoping (I know, bad word), to be able to recall/feel my committment more than I feel whatever it is that is happening at the time. For ex: my ac/furnace just went....getting estimates, they're not pretty numbers!

Another thing I've worked on and I'm feeling good about is the "not needing to reward myself after a task"....I've really concentrated on trying to remove this trigger, because I think it's such a big one for me.....I believe that I can now relax instead of needing to "reward" myself with a cigarette. I can reward myself by relaxing, doing something for myself, like soaking my feet for example.  A real reward : )

FYI: My quit day is August 19th/ and I'll be on the road most of the day so I probably won't post that day....I should be able to the following day/night.

Good night all... : )
