My official Day 1.

Last night doesn't count as my Day 1, I don't think. Today is going to be my first full day without cigarettes if I can convince my mom NOT to give me any if I ask. Plus, when I never did this before, I am eyeing the half-smoked cigarettes in the ash tray. Last night, I ate a lot of sugar free candy and halls and the more I thought about not smoking, the more I REALLY wanted one. So, I found one that was under my bed, held it in my hand for 45 minutes and eventually smoked half of it.. I didn't want it after that.

So today when I woke up I automatically started looking around for my cigarettes. And remembered HEY! I'm supposed to be quitting! I've had my morning breakfast and I'm drinking coffee right now without any obnoxious urges. Lets see if I can keep it going.

Hang tough , the first day is the toughest. The biggest thing youve done is make the decision to quit. Even if you slip youve decided that cigarettes are no longer for you and YOU will beat them.

Stay strong and theres support here. we are all doing this together.

I am sixteen days into my quit. And beleive me I know exactly what you mean. I went through it myself. Trust me the morning urges will eventually go away. That first one was the hardest one for me but I did it and so can you.

Thank you, Barry. How long have you been smoke-free?
