This is Chester, my 12 lb. eleven-year-old Orange Tabby boy. My PCP told me I was actually allergic to cat dander and dust after she did a full allergy panel. Chester is very affectionate, and loves laundry day, especially getting up in the linen closet and making sure the towels are stacked correctly. This is his, "I approve this pile " pose. He's an indoor /outdoor cat who loves mice and crickets, climbing trees and fences, and never goes off property. Mine is his first "forever" home. He was rescued as a kitten in 2010 by a no-kill shelter and went through several failed adoptions before we met. He was two when he came home with me. He gets his senior wellness check regularly and his shots and his flea treatments monthly which he cooperates with just fine, (because he gets treats afterwards.) He doesn't mind rain because if he comes in wet, knows he gets the towel. He will yowl when he comes in to let me know he's wet and coming upstairs to the study for the "towel" treatment. A yowling male tabby can be quite loud. He's very clever. I have absolutely no intention of parting with him, and have never noticed any allergic reactions.
Besides, Feb. 14, is his birthday and He loves his birthday crickets. He will be 12 next week. Last year I got him a Meow box, which had all kinds of cool Valentine-themed toys which he played with for a day to show his gratitude and that was the end of that. So we don't do the meow box anymore. Chester is anything but high maintenance; his class and smarts are entirely natural. Best of all, his coat hasn't smelled like smoke in three years. Amazing.
Peace,
A.
