I’m here in Hawaii because my dad was in WWII. He served at Pearl Harbor and when his duty was done he stayed here for awhile. He loved Hawaii

My dad was never able to come back or share

this place he loved because my mom was too afraid of the long trip. I always promised

him I would bring him back here some day and here we are. Took me about 10 years but my dads ashes are now forever a part of the beautiful turquoise oceans of Hawaii

My dad loved me so much! I know this even more now as i remember he quit smoking the day I was

born. He said it wasn’t hard at all because there was me!! Just beautiful

Always with me dad Love u

Thank you for sharing your dad's story; your love for him shines through.  And his love for you; he quit smoking because he loved you so much.  That's where I hope my ashes end up, too.  In Kealakekua Bay, off the City of Refuge.  I've told my daughters that's where I want to be: beautiful Hawaii, where they were born.  Aloha nui, Bonnie ~774 DoF

What a wonderful story, my moms ashes are there as well...she passed away 6 months before we were due to go there for vacation...we spread her ashes at dusk, what a beautiful place to be...may your sweet memories stay with you forever

I have left wishes for my ashes to be scattered in the Kander River in Switzerland (and set aside money for my girls to do it.)  It is an Alps snow fed river, turquoise in color, that has a rushing current not to be believed.  I fell in LOVE with it when I was there!

I had an abusive father, and the people around him when he died insisted I take some of his ashes.   I encouraged ideas from my friends to help determine what I should do with Bruce.  They included dumping him on the foot rail in the local bar, putting them on the bumper of a tractor trailer and letting them hit the highway as it started off, taking them to the local dump.  I suggested to a close friend that I was going to just dump them in the toilet and, aghast, my friend said, "oh, you  CAN'T do that."  When I asked why not, she responded, "Well, we really don't know for certain that there aren't ghosts - and what a terrible place to have one!"  I finally relented and scattered him on the shore of the watershed where we used to go ice skating when I was a kid!

You were blessed to have a father you adored!  Cherish that memory!
