My No Smoking area

My non- smoking area is like a bubble aroumd me.It's a non smoking sign I have to see no matter what.

Recently I have had some losses and big changes-moving from an old neighborhood of eight years and a close person leaving suddenly.

I live and breathe in a no-smoking area.I have done so now for over two years but I am still vulnerable.Today I had to confront someone and I dislike any confrontation. The person took off for a smoke and left.

I feel badly about these losses and changes but as a recovering nicotine addict I have learned that change is not always bad.Just for today I will not smoke and because I am so grateful to be quit this long I will not be deprived.

Thanks for all Exers New and old that contribute to the recovery of my nicotine addiction on a daily basis,Not one ouff no matter what!Moe smoke free since 2/5/10

Thanks for the blog.  We all know that we are vulnerable and honor that.  I'm going thru some big time stress which is leading to extreme fatigue.  The smoking thoughts are creeping in and I need to still take it a day at a time like you are.

Hey, everybody!

Moe - Wow - you have had clean lungs for a long time now --- don't even THINK about poisoning them again - ya' hear?

Yaya - PLEASE know that, even if you are quit for awhile , it  doesn't mean you can now have "just one."  Just one will awaken that nicotine demon and you will be back to 100's in NO time at all@

Niether of you want to start that countdown or go through that first week again - do you?

Stay strong!  You CAN continue to be smoke-free!  Just don't give in!  Maybe you need to remind yourselves of your craving tools?

I am hoping to come out of this a better person. I hope your changes and losses lead to your growth in love and spirit. You are a lovely person (I can tell by the kind of support you have been not only to me but to others on the site!) I wish you all the best Moe. I don't like confrontation much either! Try to stand your ground, your opinion matters. You have helped me so much on this site...Thank you! I am here for you too! I hope you will be blessed and happy in your new home! Wishing you all good things Moe. Never forget NOPE!

Hi yaya,mc88,Lul and youngatheart. Thanks for stopping by. New and old blogs and responses help my nicotine addiction recovery. I have grown and changed my attitudes a lot to stay quit. After going through withdrawal the fact that life situations change was great news.I had not welcomed change at all during my smoking days.Confronting someone was something I would fume about then make a pack of fumes.Thank goodness for change. BTW I believe we are all vulnerable,I see openly talking about it as a strength not a weakness. Thomas put up an article that says 6% of us will stay quit. I wanna be in that lifeboat with the 6% painted on it. This is how I do it.When my stress boils over I blog the honestly. Thanks fellow Exers! Not one puff no matter what! Moe smoke free since 2/5/10

This made me feel empowered to an extent.  I joined on this site earlier, about 30 minutes ago, and it's just made me feel even better about trying to quit smoking.

Dear old smoking self,

Its been over two years now.We believed so many crazy things to keep smoking.I forgive you as much as I can.I heard a talk show host (Oprah) say once "when we know better,we do better."I know better now I used to believe that we had a Right to smoke,I also thought I could never be my mellow self without smoking.Boy when dad quit I thought for sure he would tell you to go away but he didn't.Dad's a wise man he knew the nature of a smoker-he knew we wouldn't scare and that we had to see this for ourselves,

Well smoking self you will always be part of me.I am a recovering nicotine addict so I will stay vigilant.I know now that I must always be upfront about ever romancing you.

I will go to any lengths to see that you don't ever get the keys again.I will ask for help when I need it and share my experience with others.when I think it/s a benefit to my new smoke-free self and the new quitter.

Day by day I let go of the ideas we had.I enjoy being free. Now that I know smoking will lead me to sickness, the jail of being dependent and harm to those I love you are no longer calling the shots..

Thanks for the post Moe.  I like your comment, " Just for today I will not smoke".  I am going to chant that and there may be times where it might be just for this minute or hour.
