1/1/2022 Today is my quit day! A phase of life that passes, my gateway to better. Today I will STOP seeing smoking as "Who I am, but Something I do."

"Forget about what's happened; don't keep going over old history. Be alert, be present, I'm about to do something brand-new...." (Isaiah 4:18-19)

If I may, I suggest you spend your first day reading everything you can on this site. And then come here at least once a day from now on. (I made it part of my morning routine.) Keep busy, your hands and your mind, and stick to your plan.

CONGRATULATIONS  on your decision to quit @PWitschi ! It will be the best decision you ever made! And you have come to the best place to get support during your quit! Welcome to EX and a wonderful community of supporting people who will help you on your way! Make sure you read all that you can on site about nicotine addiction and its affect on your brain. Also make sure that you complete your EX plan and pay special attention to the Triggers and what you will do instead of smoking! This was so important to me in my quit! I had to completely change my routines up but it was so worth it, and I am now 100 days smoke free. You will also want to stick close to the site and post as often as possible. I know I posted daily for the first couple of weeks of my quit to get support and advice. I spent the time that I would’ve spent smoking online on EX talking to others who had quit either years previously or even weeks previously and found that their advice was spot on! another thing you may wish to do is take the daily pledge. This is also something I have done since the first day of my quit and it gives you that extra commitment to others on the site that you will not smoke! Just a few suggestions to help you on your way. Let us know what support we can be to you and we will be happy to provide any advice that we can! This year you had given yourself The Gift of Life and you will not regret it! I look forward to hearing more from you🤗💕

If you feel good about quitting today, awesome and keep going. If you feel strange, that's to be expected, don't smoke, keep going. Many millions of us have quit and would have it no other way. So come on in, sit down, and know that you are not alone. One day at a time, yes you can.

Hi and Welcome to Ex’s @PWitschi

Glad you found our site.  Today, is your quit date.  Make Day 1, Day Won.  May I suggest, you read at https://www.becomeanex.org/my-ex-plan/ there you will learn about planning for your quit date.  Also, you will learn to identify your triggers and what you will do in place of smoking. (Ie., drink water, do a jigsaw puzzle, take a walk, exercise, meditate, pray, etc.,) … I found breathing exercises helped in touch moments, (See Below)

Be sure to come here to the support site often to get help, to report your progress and to encourage others on this journey.

Make Quitting and You .. Your priority…the pay off is so worth it.

Wishing You a Happy New Year, especially one that is smoke ~ free.
