Turkey Tacos

Ingredients

Corn Tortillas

Leftover white meat shredded like shredded beef but not fine more coarse

Romaine lettuce shredded (Similar to coleslaw shred but not quite as fine)

corn oil (for Marinade and Frying Corn Tortillas.)

rice vinegar

Shredded cheddar cheese

(THE SECRET IS THE LETTUCE WITH THE OIL AND VINEGAR WITH THE TURKEY)

Preparation
Shred up some lettuce a little larger than coleslaw and soak in rice vinegar and oil. Set Aside

I use corn oil because it doesn't add alot of flavor of its own

Fry up as many taco shells as you want and you'd better make extra (fresh is 1000 times better than preformed)

This takes 10 minutes.

put 1/8-1/4 inch corn oil in a 12" skillet.

Put one shell in and immediately flip it over flat, then, then fold it in half and move it to the side  Do the same with another and another until you have three shells are cooking at once. Pull out with tongs in the order you put them in and add another. Drain on paper towels. (Keep warm in 200 degree oven)

Warm the leftover turkey slightly so it isn't cold and shred it slightly with your fingers

Ok-It's Assembly Time

Load some shredded turkey in the shells

Add some of the soaked lettuce with your fingers

Add some shredded cheddar on this and, EAT EAT EAT

Sounds good....Makes me want to go buy some turkey!    We had ham yesterday (I know....possibly a sin on thanksgiving to not have turkey).

Can I do this recipe with au gratin potatoes and ham??????

No Sharon, ABSOLUTELY NOT!

LOL

You could get some large flour tortillas and make burritos though. Add a little cheese

My favorite recipe for leftovers from Thanksgiving:

Put some turkey on a plate

Put some stuffing on a plate

Pour some gravy over all.

Heat it up in the microwave.

Serve with a side of cranberry relish and pumpkin pie for dessert.

If you get sick of this before the leftovers run out, you made too much to begin with, or you aren't hungry enough.

(P.S. your taco sounds good, too. )

My favorite recipe for left overs? hmmm....

Put dark turkey meat on plate in sandwich size pieces enough for about two sandwiches. Heat in microwave.

While heating turkey meat, put kraft salad dressing on  4 slices bread to taste.

Put turkey meat on sandwiches, like playing tetris, so the entire slice is covered.

Place another slice of bread over the top and begin other sandwich.

When those are ready, place on plate with left over turkey meat, the one you heated the meat with.

Then, look for little things like olives, carrot sticks, beanut butter celery, pie slices, whatever to round out the plate.

Enjoy!

About the Author
Hello, My name is Dale. I was quit 18 months before joining this site and had participated on another site during that time. I learned a lot there and brought it with me. I joined this site the first week of August 2008. I didn't pressure myself to quit. HOW I QUIT I didn't count, I didn't deny myself to get started. When I considered quitting (at a friends request to influence his brother to quit), I simply told myself to wait a little longer. No denial, nothing painful. After 4 weeks I was down to 5 cigarettes from a pack a day. The strength came from proving to myself, I didn't need to smoke because I normally would have smoked. Simple yes? I bought the patch. I forgot to put one on on the 4th day. I needed it the next day but the following week I forgot two days in a row I put one in my wallet with a promise to myself that I would slap it on and wait an hour rather than smoke. It rode in my wallet my first year. There's nothing keeping any of you from doing this. It doesn't cost a dime. This is about unlearning something you've done for a long time. The nicotine isn't the hard part. Disconnecting from the psychological pull, the memories and connected emotions is. :-) Time is the healer.
