My Day 1 !!

Ya know, I never minded smoking till they changed the papers for the cigs to self-extinguish after a couple minutes.  The papers tasted awful and the dang cigs kept going out all the time.  What a pain in the butt!!

So, here I am at day 1 of my quit.  I finally said enough is enough and got the patch.  I quit for 6 years once before but was a dummy and believe that I could have "just one".  Yeah right.  Now, 3 years after the "just one", I'm quitting again.  This time that little bugger that succeeded in making me believe I could have one, won't be listened to.

I know I can do this.  I've done it before.  Yep, I'm going to be a real bear for a day or two.  I think about cigs all the time and habit sometimes takes me outside on the deck (I never smoked in the house).  Sheesh.

Onward and upward!

Hey Patti,You can do it!!!I was a three and a half a day smoker and I quit by accident.I got a lot of support from Ex.Did you get rid of all your smokes?I the beginning sugar-free hard candy helped me a lot and I still carry a squeeze ball for my need to have something in my hands.

You can do it Patti! Not one puff no matter what!!! Moe

Thanks all!  Whew, this morning was a little rough.  The habits are still there and I had to take a couple deep breaths to get over them.

Yes Moe, I did get rid of all my smokes.  No way can I have any around because they would be too much temptation.  I'm going today to get some sugar free candy or gum.  I have to have something to get rid of the icky taste in my mouth!!

Then it's off to the gym.  Last time I quit, I gained 30 pounds.  NOT going to  happen this time!!!!

Thanks for the awesome welcome!  Sure feels good to be in a place where everybody else has "been there, done that!"

Great job Patti.  I plan on taking the next few days to break habits.  I am going to try making smoking very uncomfortable.  Try Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred.  I have just started it after baby #4 and it is awesome.  20 mins done and my body is transforming.  I'll be on the patch on Sunday, it helps with the anxiety while dealing with the habitual stuff.
