Morning on this Beautiful Spring Day!

Guess the struggle continues....but the win is to NOT light up...NOT buy any smokes........do the things that you promised to use at these moments....promised yourself!

Because failing doesn't hurt anyone else....slipping doesn't effect those that have been cheering you on....you only fool yourself, let yourself down.............but the trick would be to not let a slip make you give up totally!

NO, I have not smoked, but these are the thoughts that go thru my head when I think...."why..." or "who cares..."

So, in my mind, I can't "cheat" on myself....sounds funny, but yeah, if I ever slip...my consciense would force me to tell everyone how I messed up!

A small moment of enlightenment happened yesterday....a total of 18 days........I had to go to the dentist and filled out the forms, and at that one question about smoking...I was able to check "NO"!  And when the dentist asked again in the back room, I let him know that I quit smoking on April 16th..........it kind of felt good to tell him that!

And today, up way too early, watched the sun come up....and there was a passing thought about wanting a smoke.....but than the dog reminded me we need to walk!  Have a great day everyone!

Try saying, "I don't do that anymore" when the thought intrudes and then get busy.  Do something - anything to get your mind on something else  That thought will leave in  about three minutes whether you smoke or not.  Even slow, deep breaths work!

Another good self talk saying is - SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION! Not for any reason or under ANY circumstance.

Good for you!  I loved being able to check off the box saying that I did not smoke at the dentist, the doctor, anywhere I could find!

Your mind is going to play games with you but you are actually SO right that the one you would be letting down the most is yourself.

Congratulations on staying smoke free.

Try looking at it as you did not have to quit but rather you chose to quit! For some reason, knowing that I chose it meant more to me.

The first time I saw former smoker on the Dr.s paperwork, I know I had a cheesy grin! and a very good feeling inside!

Congratulations on 19 days free!

I Won't Quit on my Quit!

Thank you for coming here and posting.  You are also helping yourself, but more so others that are struggling right along with you.  Congrats on the 19 days!!!!
