Missing You All

Hi, thanks to all my friends and supporters on this site for helping me get to be where I am now.

There are so Many people who helped me along the way, and never turned their back on me regardless that it took me 15 years to stop smoking.  With having a mental illness, and this addiction, it took me years to figure out what I needed to do to quit and stay quit.  I asked my doctor to increase my anti-depressants for the depression I felt when stopping smoking.  I enlisted the help of EX and all the fabulous people here to my aide.  I blogged and also had telephone support line, and another site too to help me.  I used every method known to man including cold turkey to quit.  Finally when I was faced to change my routine, (In hospital with broken ankle) I was able to stop cold turkey.  I owe it all to my good friends and Higher power.  I changed my routine, and listened Nancy, Marilyn, Suzy, Ellen, @sweetpit, (Collen) and so many others that have now left this site.

I am at the present sober and s m o b e r, for 567 days, 5,668 cigarettes not smoked, money saved $1,813.87 cents.  That's only money calculated on 3 cigarettes a day, which I had weaned down to.

Oh yeah, someone else who gave me hope was Dale, and also a man who blogs every day, can't remember his name right now.  But I think he knows who he is.  He was also very instrumental, just by asking in a blog what I was going to do today, with other encouraging words too. Oh I know @mikecity

Sooner or later you will get this, even if you are an infamous serial quitter like I was.  At some point, if you never quit quitting, and hang around here long enough, You are going to figure out what exactly you need to do, to stay of the "Death sticks".

My late husband said, "You'll never quit."  Well, I'm here to say, Never Say Never!!  I am a member of the 6% club now, and an elder at last.  Long desired, and hard fought for.  Don't ever give up!!  Mental illness, or no matter how addicted you are.  I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs of cigarettes a day, and some times two packs a day.  That's 50 cigarettes a day!!

Ok, I'm taking care of myself and my Dad now.  I joined AA, and I have managed to stop two addictions that made me hate myself.  DON'T EVER GIVE UP!!  Keep coming back!!

Love ya all!

I'm a widow now, my husband passed away January 1, 2018 He died of COPD, and pre leukemia and the flu. He quit smoking 15 years ago which gave him extra time. I am a mother, and grandmother. I have smoked for 47 years. I am going to have my forever quit and I'm doing it for me and my two daughters so I can live longer and be with them. I like to read, swim, garden, crochet, paint and doodle. I also enjoy walking and visiting with friends and family. I am 100% making this my last quit. I have been in denial about what smoking has done to me and my kids. I must make a new life for myself and it doesn't include cigarettes. I may already have COPD, but have not been officially diagnosed.
