This has got to stop.

I've been on and off this site, never posting blogs, just a couple comments and messing around with my profile. But I need the support. My last for serious quit, I used a different website, and I don't want to go back to it, because it would just be weird with all the new people, and I don't want to be a new people there. But here...being a new people here is totally different, because I really am new!

So, I'm 25 minutes away from my last cigarette. I've done all the steps that I'm supposed to. I know my triggers, and I've worked on separating. I have my patches. I have my Allen Carr. I have my hypnosis in my iPod, though I don't think I'll use that until tomorrow, because it's so late now.

I guess I just need friends. Will you be my friend?

Besides being a nonsmoker, my goal is going to be to come on here every single day. That gets a little hairy, because they're pretty hard-core about the Internet usage at work, but I can come on here every night and just hang. I don't smoke at work anyway. I mean, somedays, I run out and hide behind the other buildings like I'm in junior high, but usually, I don't. I will carry gum to and from work though, so I don't decide to hit the drugstore on the way to the train.

I want you all to know that, though I've been on and off this site, sort of lurking, for several months, I find you all very, very inspiring. Everytime I come on here, I see a scary video that reinforces why it's a bad idea, or see reason in the comments on the blogs that hint at the possibility of relapse. I know that with you, I can do this.

glitter-graphics.com Brenda,
Don't worry about coming or going from this site. There are people here who will always support you. Wether this is your first attempt or 10th. We are here for each other.
You really have to make sure you will give yourself a break too though. The first 3 or 4 days will be the hardest. Those are the days the cravings will hit you. Try and change up your routine. If you usually smoke after dinner, get up and go do dishes, or go for a walk. The good news is the cravings only last a few minutes. If you can just take it moment by moment you can get through them.
When you get down or need support just blog. We will come running with ideas and suggestions for you.
I wish you happy thoughts and good health.

Good luck Brenda. You will be able to do this. Don't feel bad about not blogging. I don't blog either. Some people are just better bloggers than others. I try to come on here and see if I can help anyone just a little bit. Don't know if I have or not, but I will keep putting the word out about how wonderful it is to be an EX. The freedom is so wonderful. Wait, you will see.

Brenda, you can do this. The process is simply a matter of not ever taking another puff. Yes much harder said than done, but fight through those craves and befor you know it you will be celebrating your first 30 days! Gum, sunflower seeds, ice water with crushed ice, lollipops, popsicles ahve all been suggested and all seem to help.
Kellie is right in changing your routine. You will be triggered just by walking past the same spot where you usually lit your cigarette in the morning, silly things wills trigger you. Be prepared and that will get you through. It gets easier after your first week.

2+ WEEKS AND HANGING ON. READ ALLAN CARR'S BOOK: "EASYWAY TO QUIT SMOKING". It made sense to me and has made my journey easier. You would have to goggle it as I don't know how to post links.
