It distracts you from focusing on the needle going in.

Distraction is the key to successfully navigating the craves and urges while you are unlearning smoking.

Below are some tried and true techniques that may work for you.

1. Laughing Out Loud-You can't help but be surprised to hear yourself laugh when you feel you should be miserable.

2. Stick your head in the freezer and breathe the cold air for 15-20 seconds. (Once again, picture yourself being watched doing this "exercise" . That is 1/2 the shock value

3. Bite into a lemon skin and all. You cannot help but be shocked out of anything

4. Fill your mouth with ice cubes and try to not get brain freeze.
 

Make up your own! Anything out of the ordinary that grabs your senses immediately will work.

 

 

And don't be doing jumping jacks while they are drawing blood.

You only need to quit once if you keep them away from your face
