Making my way to week 4 now...

I guess my hubby's 'sneaking' cigarettes and lying about it was at least a good thing for my own quit. It's helped make me super stubborn, which for this endeavor is a good thing. I can't say there aren't times when I instinctively kind of reach for a cigarette but only because it's been paired with a certain behavior in the past; not because I actually want to smoke a cigarette. I've quit enough times that I finally get that it only takes just one.

So, it's day by day and I'm at the point where I'm beginning the 1/2 Chantix every other day to finish up the end of my 'starter pack'. Since the 1mg twice a day was too much I've been cutting them in half and often forget to take the night time dose. I think the weaning slowly will go ok and if I start to falter I can always refill my prescription and go another month.

I'm feeling pretty confident - I've had a couple of extremely stressful events that I've made it through and a couple of events that I was a minority non-smoker and didn't want one at all. Tormorrow it may all change - I'll cross that bridge then.
