I haven't posted lately, but received a notification that I made it to the Triple Digit Club!
While I'm extremely happy to have made it this far, and have no intention of ever smoking again, I feel somewhat guilty as quitting has been one of the easiest things I've ever done. Please don't take this as bragging or boasting, I am shocked and amazed at how peaceful the transition has been.
I took Chantix for a little over 2 months, faithfully for the first month. I cut down to one a day, but when I kept forgetting to take it, I just stopped it. Since the beginning, from my first quit day, I have experienced NO cravings, have been even-tempered, did not gain weight... I'm not sure why this was so easy for me- I DID do a lot of prep work, research, and planning before I quit.
My husband continues to smoke. He tried Chantix, but after a month of taking it, his desire for nicotine remained too strong for him to put the cigs away. I think maybe he'll quit eventually but he needs to decide when and how.
