Made it through a tough one

A humdinger of a craving hit for seemingly no reason whatsoever. It was late afternoon, my parents were here visiting--no stress. Kids were a little hyper but that is to be expected when Grandma and Grandpa are here.

Hmmmmm.....

My husband got home and I had pretty much hit a wall of exhaustion about a half hour before that. I knew I had to get out of the house and do something. Tomorrow is Spring Cleanup in our city, so everyone does the annual slow mosey through the neighborhood to rummage through everyone else's household trash at the curb. So I did that (found nothing of use), and came home.

Still craving at this point...

Aha! Yardwork!! So I go and do that for over two hours. Hack-n-slash the overgrown bush beast some more (and I am getting somewhere with it, finally!), weed the perennial garden and stack up brush. Oh yeah, I cleaned out the garage and took our crap to the curb, too.

Feeling better at this point although I am getting concerned. Summer plans are coming together nicely and the kids have a variety of activities to keep them busy in the mornings. Sad to say it, but the reality last summer was that the kids drove me a little batty being home all day long. Anyway, they have water readiness (swimming preschool) for a couple of weeks, then mornings in a schoolish/daycare setting. They will be with staff they already know, so no transition issues are foreseen. I will be able to get housework, errands and some yardwork done while they are having meaningful fun. The stress level should be lower.
