I want to first acknowledge I am going day 60 of being smoke free. This journey with Ex was the most supportive means of quitting for someone who has smoked for over 45 years. I’ve tried quitting before and I didn’t have the support like I got from Ex and all it’s members, this is the key to quitting.
I started on the patch the first week and was doing great as I was getting all these text messages encouraging me on to stay the course.
I realized I was allergic to the patch and had to get off. I went along with the program even talked with a coach live one time, it was great. The hardest times were around week 3-4 when I would get these weird urges or triggers that came out of no where. As weeks went by they were no longer popping up and surprising me. Week 7-8 practically nothing and when something does it’s very temporary  I have to say triggers were no issue what was weird were physical issues like I felt itchy at times,my mind was sort of off in the distance some at times. Substituted eating three times a day and snacks in the evening ( weight gain). The anxiety started wearing off on week 5 and I feel more in control of my body. That was a weird experience that I almost didn’t have control of my mental state ( hard to explain). I do the daily pledge and glad I do and I support others there too.
