((((HAPPY HOLIDAYS))))

Hey Yall!!! I'm just stopping in to say hello and to let you all know THE JOURNEY CONTINUES!!!

Since my last blog in April I've been traveling which is something that I promised myself when I retired in June 2018.  In May -June 2019 , I drove from Texas to California (SOLO).   My route consisted of  time spent in Albuquerque, Sedona, The Grand Canyon, Vegas, San Francisco, Carmel by the Sea, and Pasadena Calif. I've always wanted to take a leisurely road trip across country. And I'm sure you know the USA has a beautiful back yard.  Originally, I did not plan to go solo.  I had made plans with a childhood friend to make this trip and 2 weeks before we were scheduled to leave she backed out . I knew if I did continue with my plans chances are I would never take this road trip.  I'm so glad I did and if I had to do it all over again the only thing I would change is to spend more time in Sedona.  It's such a magical place.

I've always wanted to go to Europe and I got the opportunity to do so with a tour group in September.  We spent time in Venice (thankfully before it flooded) and boarded the MSC cruise ship for a Mediterranean cruise . I got to experience Olympia, Santorini, Athens, Corfu, Kotor, Pisa and finally Rome. While on this trip I noticed that everyone smokes, every where. Each time I encountered the 'smell' I thought to myself thank God I don't do that anymore. I am also very thankful that I committed to my final quit in 1/15 because if I was still smoking I would not have been able to enjoy this trip because it required lots of walking...uphill

Those are my 2019 highlights! and I hope that you are doing some of the things that bring you joy, whether it's counting your DOF, spending time with grand kids/kids or whatever.  Just take care of yourself and live your life to the fullest!

I hope each of you have a joyous holiday season.  Until the next blog

The journey continues
