Last Smoker Standing?

I thought I was going to be the last smoker standing.  It was too difficult, I believed,  for ME to quit.  In my defense, there was little good information readily available for us years ago.  I believed smoking was just a bad habit; I had no idea I was addicted to nicotine!

UNTIL the consequence of continuing might have been more daunting than my fear of quitting.  I found a doctor whose specialties included smoking cessation (who prescribed Chantix), set a date and made a decision I was not going to smoke again NO MATTER WHAT.  I found this community a few days after I quit and with it the support and information I needed.  That was more than 11 years ago and  smoking is something that VERY rarely comes to mind.

If I can do it, so can YOU! Freedom from addiction is liberating and worth all it takes to achieve it. I promise!

I smoked until a vascular surgeon informed me of the damage I had done to myself by doing so. I quit 11 years ago, and I can swim laps virtually FOREVER now, walk most other days 40 minutes to an hour and a half. What a difference quitting has made in my life! I strive to help others find this wonderful freedom from addiction, too.
