Description

I have been a smoker since I was 18, I am now 50. Starting five years ago when my mother died from lung cancer, I swore I would quit when she died. Yes, she smoked while on oxygen. Reciently, as of six weeks ago a personal friend and neighbor, was diagnosed with terminal cancer from smoking. She passed a week ago, but she did stop in the nursing home and was not smoking for five weeks before she passsed. I have an uncle that is on oxygen that his lungs are in bad shape from smoking. Another, neighbor as a result of her smoking she has only (1) lung left, and she is still smoking, yes her condition will get worse but she is still smoking. I have quit many times, not a problem quiting, the problem is staying stopped. Well today at 2:30 after ordering the smoking patches, I opened them and slapped the first one on. I am focusing intensely on not doing the things I was doing this previously or going to places that I used to go and asssociate with smoking. I am trying this daily to see if it helps, I have the smoking book, tapess, and now this and keeping a journal.
