Anyway, fought of stopping to  buy a pack on the way home and could really use some support right now.   Please help me hold to what I am doing fpr myself not for anyone else!!!!

I think to want to smoke after fighting with someone you love is a normal reaction. Smoking is a form of slow suicide or self harm. We know it is unhealthy yet we do it anyway. We know we only feel good because we are appeasing an addiction and smoking our money for no good reason. Either hold tight bucko... or get back on board soon, no hard feelings towards yourself-- ok? This is a super tough addiction.

A good point. and well spoken. so often we do things that harm us in the end,  only to feel the pain. The key is to seeing the harm before  we do it to ourselves, i guess. Thank you for your insight!!!!

Trust me, almost all of us who have quit have a "big fight" story to tell. We are on edge while going through withdrawal. Our brain chemistry is fragile as it transitions from addict to normal. Easy to get set off.  All we can really do is go to our loved ones at a quiet moment, explain the consuming effort it takes to quit, apologize for having a hair trigger, and ask for their help and understanding. Personally, I think the best thing a spouse can do is give you some space to work it out.

You didn't buy cigarettes. That's a win no matter how you slice it!

So true... and no prob Bassano. Hey... next time it could be me that needs the feedback--right?? We're all on the same level... no matter how much time we got... cause all that really counts is this 24/ this moment right here.

When we are in the early stages of a quit .... any reason is a good reason to smoke.  And of course, it is NOT a good reason to smoke, it's only a fake good reason to smoke and a lie and the addiction talking.  So don't listen to anything you tell yourself at this point, you cannot trust you.  ha ha ha

Be proud of your quit and don't take on anything else in this world right now.   Stay strong!!  Stay clean!  Stay quit!!
