Just Some Thoughts

As I look back at my day I am amazed on how I just grab a cigarette and smoke without even thinking about it. Is it true that nicotine is not addictive but it is the crap that they put in cigarettes that is addictive? I have tried the patch in the past and I went through all three phases and once they ran out I was smoking about a week later as though I didn't even stop. Constant stress is a very big stressor for me because it seems to me that I end up dealing with it on almost a daily basis. Another trigger is when I get done eating dinner. On a positive note when I do quit smoking I will be able to afford to eat three meals a day. I would like to start exercising but I will have to check with my doctor since I was injured during the gulf war and also have severe lower back pain. I would like to go to a pawn shop and get a mountain bike and go for short rides when I have a trigger or a craving. I was told about this website from a friend who lives in the same town as I do. I also recently started my dog to become a service dog and I don't think it would be fair for my dog Grace to smell the second hand smoke. I also don't want the rest of my family to deal with the send hand smoke either. On that note and I do have a problem with living with 2 other smokers in my house but one of them smokes outside and the other person smokes in the basement. I know that doesn't make it right but it is going to make things a big challenge for me. I want to embrace my past but I want to live for the now. I am still learning my way around this wonderful website and I am sure I will learn new things as I find my way around/
