Description
I had my first "ciggie," as my Aussie pal calls them, at age ten. I smoked the occasional cig throughout my teens, and at some point in my early twenties became a regular smoker. I've quit, relapsed and quit again more times than I can recall. I'm mid-thirties now and want to reclaim my life and health, not to mention my wallet. Once and for all. Almost $8.00 for a pack, the bank account gets depleted rather quickly. I realize now that even with tools like this site, it's ultimately up to me. I'm responsible for my well-being and happiness. No more excuses or blaming others. In the nursing field, I've cared for lung disease patients. I've seen their struggle. I see a dear friend struggling with COPD, and her fear about what the future holds. I saw my uncle fight lung cancer for a year and a half before it claimed his life at age 66. I don't want that fate for myself, if I can help it!
