Description
I am an at-home Mom of two kiddos. Formerly paralegal, now I serve my community the areas of Special Education advocacy, parent support and running the ship at home. Writing is my latest avenue of thrillseeking and release. To date I have published a few articles on the Complex Child website and have make a couple of contributions to other books as well.
The most immediate benefit/goal of quitting is that I presented a guest lecture at our community college. It was nice to make it through the 4-hour presentation without having to clear my throat every few minutes. This presentation might be the start of a future lecture series. One other mention on my List of Things to Accomplish is to participate in a choir or do some community theatre.
For the long term, I don't want my kids to think it's okay to smoke because they saw me doing it. I'm already reaping the benefits of lungs that don't ache. Relearning how to NOT smoke is a step-by step-thing, sure. Just as Rome wasn't built in a day, neither is better health.
