It was a good day

...because I didn't smoke. It took all my first-week tools, but I didn't smoke today. I panicked, and cried, and stomped my feet, and finally took an extra med...but I did not smoke. I'm in the grip of a deep depression right now, and as usual I don't know how to reach out. So I stay in my room and work with my self-care tools until I feel better. And I don't smoke. I've repeated day 1 far too many times. So no matter how sh*tty my day might be, it's a good day because I didn't smoke

I know the feeling.  My quit started on Saturday the 6th.  What helped on that first day was that I had traveled for 16 hours with layovers.  So I figured it was the best time.  The gum helped me get through the big cravings.  But it was hard sitting in that chair that long.  None the less, I'm still smoke/vape free.  Good job on doing what you have to do to get the damn job done!!!  Cause it is a damn job to quit!!  lol

Quitting is probably one of the hardest things to do, because it’s an addiction. Please read this site listen to the people, they have great advice and tools you can use to help yourself through this, but never give up. Life is worth so much more than any addiction. Be strong

You are doing this the only way it is done  - one day, sometimes one crave at a time.  You do whatever it takes to get through today, then repeat it tomorrow and the next day and then the next.

It WILL get easier, hopefully SOON!  Stick with it until it does!

Congrats on understanding that a day quit is always better than the alternative!

This can be tough early on, but you're doing it!  Listen to what you're body needs right now.

Take care.
