An all over the place blog……..

Every time I have a serious crave and fantasize how satisfying a cig would be I come to this site and read a blog where someone had to postpone surgery due to pulmonary issues or someone was diagnosed with cancer.  Just by reading these blogs reinforces my resolve to remain smoke free.  I will not start over again just because I have a crave that is only going to last a few minutes.  I don’t believe we ‘slip’. We make a conscious decision to go out and buy a pack of cigs and smoke.  We need to stop finding excuses why we decided to start smoking again.  If we are committed in our quit there is nothing in this world that would cause us to start smoking again. Being honest with ourselves can be freeing.  Are you being honest?

I don’t want the smell of cigs in my clothes, in my hair and on my fingers.  My breath is fresh and my gums are a pretty pink once again.  Have you looked at your lately?  Check them out I’m sure yours are pretty as well.

I like the confidence I have gained by being a nonsmoker.  I can laugh and talk with people without wondering if my breath is offensive.  I feel more relaxed around others.  Have you notice that about yourself?

My lungs are getting better each day.  I’m beginning to enjoy riding my bicycle through the park once again. Why give this up just to suck on a cig?  I don’t think so.

Even after 153 days of being smoke free I know I will still think of a cig. from time to time but I also know that I can come to this wonderful site for help and motivation to continue on this journey.  I hope you will continue to find reasons to remain smoke free.  Our health and our lives depend on it.

The journey continues

You're right.  We don't slip, we make a conscious decision to give up our power.

You're smart to come here when you start going on that fantasy cruise in your mind.  Better yet, stop the cruise before it ever gets out of the slip.  As soon as you recognize that you're romancing the cigarettes, get off the ship and get on another form of mind transportation!

You are doing great with your quit, keeping busy helps, coming here and reading blogs is a great idea as well. I used to go to Jonescarps aka dales page concerning the first 4 months of your quit  that really helped me tremendously whenever I was battling a crave and needed added strength.

Hi to all and congratulations, I know what it is to have mental moment in that a cigarret will be very calming, is going to be 4 month smoke free, smoke for 53 years so it is like you lost your best friend, that one consoling you when u had a problem, calming your nerve when ever needed, imagening that will eass your sorrows or calm your pain, is very hard not to have your best friend. How ever I imagen it died and suffer in agony as my father did then I come to the conclusion that I cant bring him back, nor can I cry everyday about it, or fall into a deprecion. Life goes on and I with it so I go on with another rutine drink a glass of water and the craving desapear. It is not easy but we are getting there one day at a time and with the support of all of you we will conquer.

Good luck to all and God bless
