Nice to hear. I joined today. It has been 14 hours since I quit... feeling unsure if I can continue. I have smoked for 20 years. I am 43 and I am starting to get concerned for my health. I decided to quit a month ago and this morning I got on this site... might of done this a little backwards. And the count down continues. Wish me luck! I feel like I lost my best friend.
This is the hardest part...you can continue. It feels crazy. I said to my kids, how do normal people do this???? I used a patch and it helped take the edge off and get me through the more anxious moments.
Whatever you do, please try not to pick up a cigarette! Your brain is used to having that treat every time it gets triggered. The only way the cravings will stop is to retrain your brain. When you get a trigger, give your brain a new treat - get it used to that / not cigarettes.
Pick your treat (excercise, a walk outside, a handful of almonds, play a video game - it engages your brain and hands at the same time and seemed to work for me.
