I did not want to be Debbie downer, after my last blog detailing many negative events in my life in the last 2-3 months.
So I held back to more upsetting news, but today I decided to ask for your help!
I took my fur baby Nucka on Monday for teeth cleaning; while under anesthesia the Vet called me to tell me he discovered a tumor on the palate of her mouth, pretty good size, and he is 90% certain he is looking at a melanoma. Also that based on the size, it probably already spread. He was asking me if I want it removed or not. Of course I said yes, and spoke with him after she was out of surgery.
If it is what he thinks it is, there is very little we can do, even with radiations her life expectancy is 5-12 months. With no other treatment, about 6 months or less (based on the size, I would think more 3 than 6). We sent the sample to biopsy, should have the results by Wednesday.
Please pray for us, I know she’ll be 12 in March and the average life expectancy for a Shih Tzu is 13 years, I was hoping to have her longer. And if I can’t please help me pray God to give me the peace and intuition to understand when she needs to go, I don’t want her to suffer in any way, we love her too much for that!
