1 year since I last smoked! I was headed out at lunch to buy cigarettes, I stopped at a CVS, and thought
"maybe I should buy the patch instead."
then thought "nah, you can't smoke on the patch"
Next thought "that's the point you idiot!"
So I bought the patch and stuck it on my rear end. During the next few days, people who annoyed me may have caught me scratching my rear - just for a shot of nicotine.
There were a couple close calls in the beginning, bad moods, arguments, maybe even some mild depression, but I'd remind myself that if I smoked one now, I'd just want another in an hour. And sometimes things would remind my of why this is so cool. I can wear mittens the whole time I'm outside in the winter! I can keep my window up in my car when it;s raining! I can make it through decorating the christmas tree with my family and not have to sneak outside in the middle of it! I don't burn dinner as often! There are so many more benefits from my quit, I'm so glad I did it.
Now I'm quit for a year, and I can experience all those things again. Time to stop counting, cause now it's starting to go by too quick!
Thanks for all you support my November friends and the "old-timers" You guys made the trip easier, well maybe easier's not the word, but this time my quit stuck!
