So it has been 36 days since my quit. The last two weeks have been rough!!! I came back on here a couple of days ago and ckoalaco blog was front page. I read it and it helped me understand my moods and thoughts. A super big shout out to ckoalaco for helping with that part of the quit.... Now my next question. I can't sleep, my body aches and my chest is very tight. I went to the doctor and he gave me a EKG and said all was normal. He said it seems to be anxiety... Anyway, someone told me that they experienced this in there quit and it does last awhile. I was wondering has anyone here experienced this on there road to freedom???

Thanks Sylvia and Deb.... This is exactly why I come to this site. It's nice to find out that all the stuff you are experiencing in a quit, is something that someone else has too.... Congratulations on your quits... I'm cheering you on. 🐵

Yes, you just explained what happened to me! I also went to the Dr., had an EKG, it too, was normal. My Dr. told me that same thing...anxiety! She put me on Wellbutrin, low dose...my anxiety level has decreased as well as my cravings....YEAH!!!!! It has been 15 days of no smoking (WHOOOOHOOOO) for me and I do feel like I am getting stronger everyday, plus I do think the meds are helping! I do plan to go off the meds within a couple of weeks! So you now know you are not alone....I love this site, it has saved me so many times already!!! I hope this makes you feel better! 🙂

Hi Kim..I've been quit for 158 days and I still have trouble with insomnia and my chest seems to always feel like it has a band across it. I do have emphysema and COPD, so that might be part of my problem. I think our bodies just have to go through a lot of excreting the junk, so we're probably going to feel worse before we feel a whole lot better. I've tried all kinds of sleep aids, including Ambien, but the one that works the best for me is L-Tryptophan. You get it at the health food store. You might ask your doctor to give you a pulmonary function test. It's a breathing test that's really involved, but it will certainly show if you have something wrong with your lungs. That's how I got my diagnosis. When I get aches and pains, it usually helps to do some mild exercise, such as walking. It just loosens everything up and breathing in all that good oxygen really helps everything. Hang in there. You're doing really well with your quit!
