INDEPENDENCE BONFIRE 2012

Opening July-4-2012

Closing------???????? When we’re DONE!

Big Old Fire

Simple instructions for the bonfire:

  1. Using your quit counter or mathematics find/calculate the number of un-smoked cigarettes you have totaled since quitting
  2.
  3. Come to the bonfire bringing said number from instruction 1 with you
  4.
  5. Care fully approach the massive blaze and throw all of those un-smoked killers into the fire by answering the BLOG with whatever dedication note you may wish to type. (note: remembering those that have died from smoking related illness is quite appropriate at this time…try to reflect on the reality of this addiction)
  6.
  7. In your post include the number of un-smoked cigarettes for you and friends that may not be able to attend (this is adding them to the bonfire)
  8.
  9. Mingle, find some food, stop by one of the coolers, get involved any way you like BUT NO SMOKING…. (the only thing allowed to smoke IS THE FIRE)
  10.
  11. And that my friends…….IS the bonfire

NOW CELEBRATE YOUR

INDEPENDENCE!

We’re looking to get 1,000,000 un-smoked cancer sticks dumped onto this fire

Bring them and dump them in here (don’t forget to post your numbers)

I’ll add them up…..let’s see how many we can get

Tell everyone to come and join us!

Happy Independence Bonfire

Freedom is a choice

Independence is PRICELESS!

For Future Reference I've created a BONFIRE group, anyone interested in being automatically invited to these shindigs please join the group, which will make announcing Bonfires to many people at the same time MUCH easier. Regardless though everyone is welcome to come and burn those nasty un-smoked cigarettes here and there, but I'll bet you have to join the group to post......... 🙂

30,000 unsmoked cigarettes in my 2 1/2 year quit!  Thanks for all your support these past weeks with the death of my neice.  Even though I had plenty of smoking memories/thoughts, I prevailed, remained faithful to my quit.  Today I have peace, no thoughts of smoking, only thoughts of gratitude!  BIG LOVE to all of you as our dear Diane Joy would say!

Fun memory:

Our family used to split into teams and have dancing sparkler contests across the pool of the spectators! The 4th was ginormous at our house and the whole neighborhood used to congregate there.  good times!

Oh Irish....how funny! Sad really but made me laugh. Wonderful to see you!

That bbq rib platter looks like something the doc ordered!  Also, for that apple a day thing that's been all the rage again....

All American caramel apple pie! Ice cream anyone?

Shawn gets up kind of late doesn't she?  It's been a while so I'm not really sure.  Who's doing the train for Bean on the 6th?  One whole year!  I'm so glad I can bore you all with my music selection now.  You can all thank Nancy!  What a great Bonfire Jim.  I love these things.  I wish there was some way to get them to go viral.  I want smoking banned in the US.... gradually.  I have a system in mind...

Here you go, Kevin.  One of the best by Skynyrd - Free Bird.  Kind of like us, free from the addiction of nicotine.

Maggie, it was supposed to be funny, so laugh away, I did.  Coffin nails are what cigarettes are, and I packaged them appropriately for the bon fire.  Actually, I needed something that size to haul my unsmoked coffin nails to the bon fire.  ((((hug)))) for you!

Jo, you are never too late when you bring drinks with you.   : )
