I've slipped

After 15 days of not smoking, I yielded to the excuse today. After I bought a pack and lit up the first one, within few puffs I realized that I don't like it anymore. My body has found its way to recover from the addiction. I felt very bad. I threw away the pack after the first one. I'm glad I did and now I know I had spent $7 for 3 puffs of a cigerette. While the thoughts of better life style without smoking is a positive reinforcement, high cost very well acts as negative reinforcement. Next sprint starts!

that i s great that you realized you didn't like them. don't feel like that is a slip, look upon it as a learning experience that you don't like nicotine any more.

I am on day two of not smoking so I know how you feel. Please don't beat yourself up. Pat yourself on the back and move on.

Keep up the good work, you can do it.

Glad that you realized that you don't need them anymore. Glad to see back on the horse. Keep reading about smoking and keep away from ciggs.

did alcohol contribute to this slip in any way?

Just logged in after the last post. Thanks for the encouragement in the comments. Its been over 40 days since I slipped once and close to 60 days since I quit and it's going great. I don't even have to control nowadays as the temptation is nowhere.

Understand the simple effects of H.A.L.T (hungry, angry, lonely, tired) has helped me a lot. Drinking lots of water, staying occupied with something ease the process.

One more that that has worked for me is to let eveyone that you would normally interact, like your collegues, friends, neighbours, know that you have quit. Announce it to almost everyone that you know. They stop being a trigger, supporting you. And most importantly, the fact that your co-workers, not so close aquintances will think about you as a loser if you start smoking again, will act as a hinderance. If you care about your reputation, this will work.

I'm glad it gets easier as the days pass. Hope every one is doing great with their dedication.
