I think I quit today

Woke up this morning and didn't want a cigarette and I haven't smoked one all day. I guess today is my quit day. Over the last week or so I have been waking up in the night coughing. That might be enough to kick start the quit. The only thing that worries me, is when you have been quit for so long that you start to forget how bad this all feels. I will forget how bad my hair and car smell. I will forget the coughing in the middle of the night. I will forget how terrible my stomach always feels. Maybe all of you kind folks can remind me every once in a while.

Yeah for day 1! I hope everyone else is going strong.

Congratulations. As i recollect, day 1 was one of the most difficult for me this time around. Oh and look at those wonderful things you will never have to experience again. Way to go richj. I'm excited for you.

I have quit probably 4-5 times a year for the last 8 years. First day is always the toughest. Finding a substitute always helps best. Running, knitting, exercize, played the sax, took ballet. I haven't decided what to do this time. I just know I cannot smoke. The only time I do not forget is when I dont' want to remember. Good Luck

I probably could have made Day 1 easier on you. I'll do better on Day 2.
