I think I finally get it...

After 16 years of smoking, countless quits and 8 days into my new smoke free life, i think i finally get it.

This is all about attitude.  Plain and simple.  If I wake up in the morning feeling deprived, then that is what I am going to feel all day.  If I wake up in the morning feeling lucky to have another good smelling, fresh air breathing, good food tasting, 2nd chance for truly living day, then that is how I will feel.

The concept is simple, I have read Allen Carr's book many times, and have read books on positive thinking, and everyones posts but until you truly live it, it doesnt really sink in.

Tommy told me last night that as a salesperson I should know that the first person that I need to sell the quit to is myself.  It was just that last aha moment when it all clicked.

I woke up this morning resolved to have a good day.  I got my daughter ready and off to my sisters (she watches her while I work from home).  I immediately put on my sweats and a t-shirt and went out for a walk,  I even decided to run for the last part of it.  Every day I plan to add a little bit to the running part.  I will tell you what, when I started to run I felt like an old dusty car that had been sitting in a garage for way too long.  But it felt good to get the old girl runnning again.  What a feeling to be out of breath, on purpose!!!

Hi Jaime! I needed to hear that...so true!  I have a feeling I'm going to be real ticked off at me when I realize it was  all in my head!!!  Thanks for the inspiration!

You've got the key, Jamie. Enjoy those walks. And those run times are going to be sooooo good.

Another benefit of running is the runner's high - no illegal chemicals or smoke necessary 🙂    I haven't run that far in a long time, but you may have inspired me to try again!
