I quit smoking February 6, 2019

I did not know it was my last but had been tapering down over a few weeks on Chantix.  I was lingering in a not quite quit space and came upon the realization I am done with Chantix as prescribed and had to incorporate the methods that are described on this site to take the next steps in this journey.  It took me until day 2 to actually destroy the remaining cigs in water and crushed up and promptly to trash outside.  I also disposed of my ashtray, lighters and even my "smoker" bathrobe.  I moved my furniture.  I got up and brushed teeth instead of what I used to do....you get the idea.  I did not know if I "could" or "would" quit.  I was just out of options and tired of feeling like death with my breathing and energy.  I have little signs in rooms of my house to keep me in a good grateful space.  I am not depriving myself of anything.  I am free.

Congratulations on a  GREAT beginning!  You've made this decision to quit for good reason, now just honor it, NO MATTER WHAT!

Promise yourself you will come here and blog "HELP" if the going gets too tough and give us time to talk you off of the ledge.

You CAN do this!  Let us know how we might support you.

Congratulations on quitting smoking.  You actually have no idea how wonderful not smoking is.  You have embarked on a journey that is life-changing.  Promise yourself you will not smoke and you will get there.  One day at a time.  Stay close to this sight.  In retrospect it was the magic for me.

taraanne‌ Day three...stay focused, stay close to the site if possible.  Your addiction may try really hard to lure you back.  Drink lots of water, keep busy, know that we care.
