I'm Feeling Very, Very Sad Today!

There are so many menbers that recently joined because they have COPD and today 3 years ago, I received my diagnosis! SO SAD for them and for me that we didn't learn about Nicotine Addiction before we had to adjust to this chronic, progressive, incurable smoking related illness! I want you folks  to know who do not have it - COPD SUCKS! One half of ALL SMOKERS die of smoking related illness! That's half of us, you guys! That just breaks my heart! Please protect your quit NO MATTER WHAT! Your LIFE depends on it!

Thank you, we need to constantly remind ourselves of this and this is a life or death proposition. I admire you so much for helping others while you are living with COPD.  You are a true hero to me:)

You are so precious to us here at Ex.  We see you constantly moving around trying to help those afflicted with this disease, trying to educate as many as you can.  Your genuine caring heart touches all of us.  You might be feeling a bit overwhelmed today, with so many coming in with this disease already diagnosed.  What can we do to help you Thomas?  So you don't feel so alone in this, I know you miss JoJo, you were a team.  How can we help?

Sending much love and Blessings to you Dear Brother....

I am so sorry that you are suffering with this illness. Just know that others are blessed through your suffering because it is a big part of the reason you are the wonderful person you have become. I hope you can feel less sad, remembering that you are truely an amazing and inspiring person!

Sweet and wise man, although i have only known you a few short weeks, I see in your writting genuine caring and knowledge of our struggle. Please allow those here who can to carry some of your saddness by caring for you. Although we are not present in body we are in spirit and intention to absorb this physical limitation you have and support the adaptation you will be accepting. I have asthma as you know. I simply have to slow down, breathe accordingly and be grateful for what is still good. Hard times shared with those that care i hope will lighten your burden. hugs.

This makes me sad too, Thomas. I'm very sad for you. I'm very sad for my Dear friend Doris. And, I'm very sad for all the others affected with this. I keep you all in my prayers.

I am one of the fortunate ones and it just doesn't seem fair to me.

Your teaching us and making us aware is a big part of why I choose to remain smokefree. Thank you always. ♥

As someone who has COPD and someone who is a nurse to those dying of COPD - I can second that!

Quit while you can! Protect your quit! Dont think even for a minute it cannot happen to you because disease and illness know no boundaries - whether its age, sex, how many kids you have, how many things you want to do before its to late ETC.....

And to those of us who have COPD - we just have to keep on swimming... Keep protecting our quit, educate our friends and families and continue to live life to the fullest because we are still full of life!
