I'm Back!

Hey guys!

I haven't been on here in forever. Well, I was smoke-free for almost 8 months... then I had a terrible break-up. I kept thinking to myself, "I need a cigarette! Just one!" Well, that one turned in to a pack, and then that pack turned into multiple packs. That was in October, and I decided to quit again because a.) It's a disgusting habit, and b.) I know I can do it... I've done it before. Well, I haven't had a cigarette since the 1st of January.

I think one thing that is really helping me is I try not to focus on the days in the past... how many days I've been smoke free... none of that. I realized that when I think about how many days its been I get really anxious... like, "Oh no! Am I really never going to have a cigarette again?!"

Now I just take it one day at a time. Since the 1st there have only been a couple of times where I really craved a cigarette and had to work hard to not go buy a pack. I know that smoking cigarettes don't solve problems, but right now I'm in a place in my life where I'm truly happy with myself... my career, life, singleness, school... I am finally happy. Hopefully this makes for a more successful quit this time around.

Welcome back, Jazz!  You're right, smoking is not going to help solve anything, great insight.

Dear Jazz, I am glad you are here and have quit since the first of January, but I have looked at your smoking history and you talk about smoking as if it's romantic and that you love it...and you also "worry" that you cannot smoke again.  As the others suggested here, please refresh your reading so THIS time, you will realize that cigarettes and hookahs aren't anything but garbage. Quitting smoking will be the most POSITIVE thing you have ever done...please embrace your quit...
