I have not smoked for 3 days

I haven't been posting for a bit on here. But I think the medication has been kicking in more lately. Last week I stated to notice that cigarettes would just taste disgusting and not even make me feel differently.

I started having a lot of those "why am i out here?" Moments. And when I would get a craving i would remember the awful taste and no satisfaction so I would go do something else. I think it is about 10 days before my official quit date I picked.

Not sure how i will be off the medication but i am enjoying the smoke free time!

If you haven't smoked in three days, have done the recommended reading, have gotten your quit kit together (including a list of your reasons for quitting,  sugarfree gum, a list of things you can do to distract yourself in a difficult moment) - then there is no reason to wait.  The nicotine is mostly out of your system now ----

DO IT!

What Medication are you taking?  If the medication is making you feel this way, stay on it for a bit to get past the couple of first weeks!  I used Wellbutrin/Bupropion.....it worked wonders and I used it for about 40 days, before I said I had conquered my quit. I am currently 78 days quit, and enjoying my Freedom immensely!

Welcome to EX!  Stay close and stay strong!  Looking forward to seeing you around!

Good job! Keep educating yourself and stacking the smoke-free days. Don't worry about getting off the medication for now. Just stay confident and know you are doing the best thing for yourself.

Congrats on deciding to quit! I also took Welbutrin. However, I really believe that the reading - and the support her were the biggest factors in my successful quit! I quit over 7 years ago after 40 years of smoking. You CAN do this!

I have been tempted a few times but I remember how much I have gained from quitting.

r.molina  I am not sure about how long they prescribe Wellbutrin for or the dose...I remember at one time that they were recommending starting with one dose a day and then easing up to twice a day and, for some reason, I thought the expected length of time was 12 weeks.  Talk to a pharmacist and ask if he or she can give you some insight.  In the meantime, I am really, sincerely, happy for you.
