I have a new enemy, and its name is Pop Tarts

Starting to tackle my quitter's weight gain this week. Haven't lost any weight yet but I'm feeling good that I'm finally doing something about it!  And the interesting thing is, as I'm turning my thoughts to food, food cravings, good and bad food habits, I'm thinking less and less about smoking...

Day 39 and counting.

Right there with you.  I started my calorie restriction this morning and will continue my exercise programs with more regularity.  Good luck.

Hi Sarah. I think a lot of my weight gain has to do with the good and bad food habits. I have recognized several of them and plan to focus on overall health real soon. All the best. Mike

Laffs, I know what you mean! Totally frustrating! I've been starting back with my fitness pal (www.myfitnesspal.com) you might want to check it out. When I first stopped smoking I was very good about my daily logs, but I slipped on the smoking and everything went downhill for a bit. I am back on track now, but I still have to get back into the exercising. I'm starting to see the numbers on the scale go up!

Poptarts!!!  Egads....how can you eat those things?? 😄  I didn't even like them when I was a kid!!! 🙂  HOWEVER, I don't care if you eat bricks if it keeps you from smoking!! 🙂

Congratulations on working on the next level of freedom!!!  Honestly, I think the weight/food thing is harder than the cigarettes because you can't just eliminate food entirely like you can with smokes.  But the answer is all the same....mindset!!  You can take what you learned here and apply it now to taking control of your food choices.  You're going to do great!!!! 🙂

I was the worst with food. I had convinced myself that I NEEDED and DESERVED a Hershey's Almond bar every night. In bed, while reading. Otherwise, I could not sleep. How dumb is that?  I took control of myself when it turned into two Hersheys.  I did gain a little weight, but it pales in comparison to what I gained in quitting smoking, so a couple of pop tarts sound fine to me.

Now that I am over my food craze, I am fortunate to have a friend who started a healthy prepared food delivery service. I  now I have wonderful food every day without cooking. If you are in a city with this kind of thing (like Fit Foods) it may be an option for you.

Lynette!!  No fair!  OMG, they look yummmmmmyyyyyy...

Connie you don't know what you're missing, haha. There's a new flavor called "S'mores". I don't know how anyone even remotely justifies them as a breakfast food -- it's candy, plain and simple. And yummmmmmyyyyy...
