I feel like something is missing

That seems to be the worst of it today.  I keep absentmindedly reaching for a pack of butts that isn't there.  I'm bored, every single time I reach for them I know I'm bored.  I've done my best to keep busy, my house sure has gotten clean today.  My teenagers and husband are all well fed, but now I'm out of ideas and I'm sitting here bored.  I'm not smoking, I'm not giving in to boredom, but I thought I should blog about it 🙂

we used smoking as a mental break when we finished our tasks.

you can and are able to take the break, but, without smoking.

this is where the 4 months come in. it takes time to unlearn these feelings and

memories

🙂 Thank you Nancy!  I was drinking huge cups of ice water but all of a sudden the ice started tasting weird and had an odd smell to it.  My husband thinks it might be a batch from when the filter was cycling and laughed at me because I've never noticed the taste or smell of ice before, lol.

it really is a huge adjustment.

i started up some hobbies that i had let go some years ago;  Reading and puzzles

i used to love to read and work on puzzles when i was younger. since i quit smoking my mind has slowed down and i love it!  i am so much more relaxed now!  i have started reading and working on puzzles again and its so relaxing.

so maby think about what you would enjoy doing with your spare time.  any hobbies that you used to enjoy.  take some of the money that you are saving and go to a hobby store or what ever it is that you enjoy and do it.

Here's something different you may want to try----when I quit...after I got done cleaning everything in sight(!!) I still needed something to do. I found this "project" in a magazine------

you take and orange and you push whole cloves into it covering the entire surface of the orange. Great for closets, drawers or just a bowl on a table...smells great. It takes FOREVER to cover the surface with cloves....keeps your hands busy and your mind as well on the placement of the cloves.....you can leave it in a bowl and come back to it day after day. At the end, you have a great smelling pomander (I made six this time when I quit). An EXTRA benefit is that with the cloves etc...you really can't eat...so you won't be mindlessly eating through your quit.

Thank you all so much!  I have definitely run out of things to clean!  lol  But tomorrow it's back to work and that will hopefully keep me busy 😉  I am definitely looking for new hobbies though, and I love your ideas!

I don't have one of those calculators yet, it would be really cool to track that though!  Here in NH we pay less than most other states but it's still going to be a huge savings for my budget!
