I came out of the lions den with my quit intact!

Yesterday my boyfriend took me to what we both thought was just a jam session (he is a bass player). We knew it was going to be a social thing and not just the musicians, but we thought it would be a small gathering. It turned out to be a party for a motercycle club that one of the guitar players belongs to. There were a ton of people, half of them smoking, all of them drinking (most quite heavily) and a few openly smoking pot. I was a little ticked. I would not have put myself in that setting so soon after quitting, but there I was. Probably the most helpful thing was that when the smokers came in from their cigs, they REEKED! I did not want to stink. So I didn't. It really helped the cravings. Holy cow. And then there were the smokers of other substances...they irked me becuase there were a couple of pre-teen kids there and they were openly smoking in front of them (on top of the drinking in excess). I kept my opinions to myself, because a fight or two broke out, and I didn't want to be the center of another one. I only had one beer, which probably also helped in not smoking, and chewed a lot of gum. I was very proud of myself when I got home. I will try to avoid those situations in the future, but I think I did well with the situation. Whew.
