I am at day 35,smoke free and nicotine free, for the first time in my 30 years of smoking. I went for a 12 mile bike ride the other day and my lungs felt glorious. I didn't realize how bad they felt before, I guess because I was so used to it. I am so glad I'm not a slave to nicotine anymore. I also recommend this book. It really made me think differently.

Congratulations

I never read the book but I had the same approach to quitting and had a very similar mindset as to how to face the addiction one time and win.

Standing ovation for Stacey!

Keep your copy of Carr's book and re-read it from time to time. Continuing to educate/indoctrinate yourself is really helpful as you start to go through the phase where you lose all desire to smoke.

Also, start thinking about some little routine or ritual you can use to reaffirm your commitment to never take another puff. Senseless relapses after successful quits are so easily preventable with that simple little insurance policy.

Thank you for your support. It's nice to have understanding people around, who've been there.

Stacey, congrats on your day 35! I am actually on my day 40 after reading Allen's book. It was truly a lifesaver!
